De los Dinosaurios (RN 150)
San Juan
To the east of the province of San Juan and 51 km from the town of Huaco, this route crosses the Ischigualasto Valley and reaches almost to the limit of the province of La Rioja. Passing through a lunar landscape very close to the Ischigualasto Provincial Park (World Heritage), in this area the fossil remains of the oldest dinosaur in the world with 230 million years were found.
Along the route you will travel through the lands that inhabited the most gigantic reptiles of prehistory and through spectacular formations of all colors belonging to the Triassic period. From different viewpoints you will be able to imagine what life was like in those lonely and desert times. On the Cuesta de los Dinosaurios, where ten enormous footprints of the Titonosaurs were found, prepare to be amazed by the curves, tunnels and bridges that cross the Sierras del Valle Fértil and take you on a journey to the very origins of the Earth.
