Cuesta de Lipán (RN 52)
Jujuy
A trip that starts among giant cacti and vicunas. In the Quebrada de Humahuaca, sits Purmamarca, one of the most beautiful towns in Argentina. You will see that everything deserves to be captured: the amazing Siete Colores Mountain, the typical sun-dried-brick buildings of the north, the mythical artisan fair in the main square, the Colorados Walkway, the night decorated with bright streetlights.
Some kilometres ahead, the ascent to the Lipán Slope starts through a winding and amazing road. There is a viewpoint in Abra de Potrerillos at 4170 MSL. The road continues along and starts winding down again until reaching a vast salt desert in the Puna: Salinas Grandes. This is another postal 3350 MSL, where the white ground contrasts with the deep blue sky.
