Useful information

— If you are travelling by plane, the city of Salta has its own airport. You may follow the proposed itinerary in either direction.

— If your travel dates coincide with the local carnival (February 28th, March 1st, 2nd and 3rd) or Pachamama Day (August 1st), book your accommodation well in advance.

— It tends to rain a lot from December to March, and that could make the walking trails quite muddy.

— Before hitting the road and taking gravel roads, check the weather to avoid rainy days. Drive carefully and avoid doing so at night.

— Remember to camp only in authorised sites. Use rubbish bags for all waste, and always take your own rubbish with you. Make fires only where allowed, and extinguish them with plenty of water.
