Meet the Southern Right Whales
Puerto Madryn is one of the world’s best locations for whale watching. Take a stroll along the city’s waterfront, drink some mates on the beach in El Doradillo Protected Nature Area (12 km away from Madryn) or enjoy a boat tour to discover the giants of the sea, and live one of the planet’s most incredible experiences.
All boat tours depart from Puerto Pirámides, within Valdés Peninsula Nature Protected Area (100 km away from Madryn, by asphalt road). Daily boat tours are offered by several companies and last approximately 1 and a half hours. Some operators recommend doing this excursion in the morning, when the sea is usually calmer.
Where: in Puerto Madryn and the Valdés Peninsula (Chubut)
When: June through early December
